About Mr. John A Crookshank
John A. Crookshank dedicated his 50-year career as an educator to St. Johns County. Mr. Crookshank served as the principal of the Orange Street School from 1926 to 1929 before leading the Hastings School from 1929 to 1933. He also led the Ketterlinus School from 1933 to 1944. Mr. Crookshank served three terms as superintendent of schools from 1945 until his retirement in 1956. Mr. Crookshank was an Army veteran of World War I and was an active member of the Masons and Rotary Club.
John A. Crookshank Elementary School was dedicated to his memory on January 4, 1959.
