Parent Resource Guide

The 2012-2013 Parent Resource Guide, a tool for parents, has been approved by the School Board and is posted at
Parent Resource Guide

Why should I go to the guide?
· Defines terms commonly used by educators
· Gives examples of skills children will be taught in each grade
· Explains what will happen if a child falls behind and what help is offered to catch up
· Suggests what parents, as partners in the learning process, can do at home.

Develop a love of Reading

Here are some helpful resources to find great books that will help you hook your kids into a love of reading:

Reading Rocket: comprehensive site funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

Storyline Online: videos featuring members of the Screen Actors Guild reading stories aloud. Obviously not a substitute for reading to your kids, but probably better than TV or video games.

International Children’s Digital Library: read over 4000 books online for free.
